Moist Chocolate Polenta Cake

Something to give and to receive for any special occasion from

I always wanted a recipe that’s easy to do and to bake, but is clearly a “fitting for an emperor” taste. Good thing! I found this cake.

This Moist Chocolate Polenta Cake is a striking sweet tooth desirable sin. The look is simple enough to take everyone’s breath in an instant. Just one bite and I’m sure you’ll give in. Like what happened to me.

16 ounces semisweet chocolate
8 ounces (2 sticks) unsalted butter
11 eggs, separated
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons brandy or liqueur (recommended: Cognac, Grand Marnier, Amaretto, or Sambuca)
1/2 cup imported polenta or domestic cornmeal (not quick cooking)
Confectioners’ sugar
